Collegelands

Location: High Street/Duke Street, Glasgow G1 1LX

Collegelands is a vibrant new quarter being created in the east of Glasgow city centre, adjacent to High Street and Duke Street. Collegelands enjoys excellent public transport access via High Street station and adjacent bus routes, as well as Central and Queen Street mainline stations. In addition, the development is situated a short drive from Junction 15 of the M8 motorway.

Collegelands will provide the next link in the redevelopment of the east of the city centre, building on the success of the Merchant City and regenerating a key site.

The masterplan provides for the following:

  • Up to 550,000 sq ft of high quality campus style office space
  • 570,000 sq ft residential and mixed use space

Work has commenced on site for the ground works and infrastructure. On approval of the outline planning application, the developer will submit a detailed application for Phase 1 comprising 4 individual buildings as follows:

  • Office block at 102,000 sq ft
  • Multi storey car park with 1,100 spaces
  • 200 bedroom hotel
  • 250 student apartments

The development will provide energy efficient buildings in low density surroundings, incorporating generous landscaping and water features. These features will add vitality to the development and will provide a working and living environment with all the benefits of the city centre - but without the stress.

The buildings will acknowledge Glasgows past but will look to the future and offer high specification space, designed to appeal to the needs of the modern occupier.
