Location: Atlantic Square - James Watt Street and York Street, Glasgow G2

The Atlantic Square project will see two office buildings and a six storey, 150 bedroom hotel built on the site between James Watt Street and York Street. A public square will also be created along with shops and leisure facilities, also including a health club and conference centre.

The developers, Capella Group, will retain the A-listed warehouse facade on James Watt Street, built in the mid-19th century.

The two office buildings will total 227,000 sq ft and there will be a covered courtyard, which developers see as a key feature.

Planning permission in principle was granted in October 2009 for the project together with detailed approval for Atlantic Square Building 1.
