Planning approval has been secured for a £13m hotel with 229 bedrooms on the corner of Howard Street and Dixon Street.

The eight storey hotel will overlook St Enoch Square and will have shops at the ground floor level. The rear of the building will face onto the historic Custom House in Clyde Street. The hotel should be open in time for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
